Friday I'm in Love!

Mostly I'm in love with the mere fact that it's Friday.  There will be no happy hour for me today, but there will be vodka & house-made tonic at Pizzaiolo before my folks and I head to the David Gray/Ray Lamontagne show!  I swear, their tonic is so dang good.  Full of herbs & all kinds of yumminess that makes it actually not taste much like tonic water at all . . . but it's still DELISH.

Today I'm in love with:

1. The Greek Theater

Berkeley's finest amphitheater.  Is there anywhere better to see a concert than an outdoor amphitheater?  I was lucky enough to see Jackson Browne there at the end of July, and now these two?  I'm musically blessed.  Only not when it comes to talent. ;)

isn't it pretty?

2. Edamame

Can't get enough these days.  I ate an entire bag the other night, for real.  It's so good.

3. These blogs (but don't forget these and these that I mentioned previously!):

Annie Cristina's
Melissa's

4. The Brazilian Blowout

Seriously, my hair is curly & frizzy.  There's no getting around it.  Once upon a time, I had pretty waves, but that was before years of dyeing & blow drying & flat ironing.  Now it's damaged and frizzy.  I'm taking steps to reverse it, though . . . I haven't dyed it in a year (hello, dishwater blonde, didn't miss you at all!), and the Brazilian Blowout is making it so that I don't have to blow dry or flat iron it EVER.  My hair normally looks something like this:

I haven't been able to just get out of the shower & go since I was a kid.  But now it looks like this:

Voila, frizzless beachy waves!  I know it's kinda hard to tell (I'm terrible at taking pictures of myself!), but it's mostly straight with a little wave, has no frizzies, and is so smooth and silky.  Easiest hair in the world!  I am kissing my blow dryer goodbye . . . for the next 12 to 16 weeks, anyway.

Happy Friday!

I wish I was your date tonight!!! You are so lucky!! :) That lion picture made me laugh out loud :) I love seeing a photo of you!! :) Your hair is GORGEOUS! That's EXACTLY how I want my hair to look - you have that sexy, wavy beach hair with non of the humidity frizziness that happens when you're actually at the beach! Enjoy your weekend Claire! xo

awww!!! You are too too sweet! Thank you my dear-from the bottom of my heart. I'm loving you, too! :)
And I'm super jealous of your concert weekend plans... I'd LOVE to see a show at the Greek someday.
Loving that blowout, too. Gorgeous (sexy!) hair, my darling.

Aw, thanks for the bloggy shout-out! And your hair looks amazing by the way! Congrats. In case your stylist didn't tell you, make sure to avoid shampoo/conditioner that contains sodium chloride, as this can shorten the duration of the Brazilian blow-out.

P.S.) Edamame = love. That is all.

P.P.S.) Have fun at the show tonight! :)

i have super wavy, super big hair and there is NO WAY i would ever leave the house without using a flat iron, so maybe i need to think about a brazilian blow out! i now envy you and your easy hair.

I love the lion picture. And you named my blog - aw thanks love! I needed that little uplift today! And I use to survive off of edamame, apparently soy isn't so good for indivduals with cfs though... somthing about not breaking down the protein in it, so it is just a special treat now. but yum.... oh how I adore making that snack a part of my day!

Edamame is the BEST! We buy it frozen from the grocery store and have it in massive quantities. Yum.

Oh your hair looks pretty awesome!! I would love my hair to not be frizzy. But my hair is also so fine it looks a bit funny straight.

And how awesome is that amphitheater.

Edamame is great, but I can't get it here....and I totally agree with you about outdoor ampitheatres! I once went to a Dolly Parton show in Toronto in a similar venue. It was very cool.

Have a great weekend!

How exciting about your hair! It looks fabulous! I got the Japanese straightening system many years ago and even though I loved the ease of it it ended up severely damaging my hair and I had awful breakage. I know the Brazilian blow out is much better for hair and I've seen such wonderful results. I've been gunshy since my past experience but you're definitely making me consider it :)
