Srsly?

Soooooooo I'm watching Jersey Shore for the first time (where have I been, hiding under a rock??), and I have a few questions:

  Is this guy's hair serious?

"I was born and raised a guido.  It's just a lifestyle, it's being Italian, it's representing family, friends, tanning, gel, everything."

↑  Is this girl serious with her tan?  Her poof?  Her face?

"I didn't find any gorilla juiceheads . . . but as long as you have a tan and some sort of build to you, I'll give you a try."

↑ Do women actually have sex with this guy?

"I'm guessing Angelina left the swiss cheese in the car cause we all know RATS love cheese."

I'm kind of amazed that people like this exist.  But I'm pretty grateful that they do, cause they make for some damn fine tv.  My favorite quote from this website:

Hemingway. Faulkner. The Situation. What do these three have in common? Well, pretty soon all of them will have written a book.

My observations/questions from tonight's (back-to-back) episode(s):
  • Snooki is 4'9"
  • Angelina's right; "The Situation" really does look like he's "f---ing 40 years old."
  • Why do all these girls have long black hair?
  • I would love to run into one of these bros at a gym.

I gotta get myself to New Jersey to do some research.  I want to see people like this in their natural habitats.

Oh I really want to see this show but haven't been able to get my hands on it yet. Unfortunately trashy reality tv makes my heart sing!

Bless their hearts. ;)

Claire, I would LOVE to see you take them on / down. Those kids would be downright dumbfounded in the face of Southern manners! The show has such a strong trainwreck factor - you know you *shouldn't* be watching, yet you can't tear your eyes away - I'm sort of dying to know what their *parents* are like!! Middle-aged guidos and guidettes? It's the punchline that keeps on giving ;)

i love this show! i am sure i kill a few brain cells by watching it every week but it makes me laugh so hard, it's totally worth it :)

to answer your questions...yes, pauly d's hair is for real (he has so much gel in it that it still looks like that when he wakes up in the morning!). snookie's poof and tan are unreal...and i still haven't figured out exactly what a gorilla juicehead is???? i am investigating.... and oh yes, lots and lots of girls actually have sex with the Sitch...he brings one home every night. he is my favorite...his facial expressions KILL me!

the show is good for a serious laugh, but not much else. apparently ppl like this really do exist! LOL

OMG i've watched this show from when they were in Jersey and laugh my butt off every episode. I think my favorite was the premiere in Miami though:)

Hahahaha! This post made me laugh out loud! I ask myself the same questions... like why would you name yourself "the situation"? You are hilarious!

Haha! I seriously love this show; oddly enough, I never really encountered anyone like the cast memebers during the years I lived in New Jersey - though I was only between the ages of 2 and 5 when I lived there, so maybe I just don't remember. :P

this is a guilty pleasure of mine, but after last week's episode i'm beyond blown away at how awful they all were to angelina. sure, she's not the brightest bulb in the box, but really? everything that goes wrong is HER fault???

i can't believe ANYONE would sleep with the situation other than to get some tv time [which is what the canadian model seemed to want!]. ugh, he's gross.

i will still watch next week's tho! ;)

I too am out of the loop... or as much as I can be. Somehow, without watching it, I still know way too much about these people. Glad you found a way to relax after grading!

OMG great post. I have not seen this show, because, well, I just finally gave up on The Real Housewives, and I'm enjoying my freedom. I may have to catch it some time... I almost watched it one time, but I turned the tv on and saw that Teen Mom was on, so I went with that. Classy.

You are hilarious. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Oh and Snooki is writing a book called "It's a Shore Thing". Yeah, SNOOKI! Who doesn't know how to read.

I don't really get it either but it is damn fine tv. Plus can't knock them for taking advantage of the opportunity. I read an article that said "The Situation" will make around 5 million (yep million) this year. I might be willing to make a fool outta myself for 5 mil too.

That's hilarious! I just started watching this season. I was so over the cast, even thought I'd never seen an episode, that I refused to watch. Now that I do, I am kinda hooked. It's freaking entertaining. I even think I am going to be Snooki for Halloween. I've got a lot of fake tanning to do lol!

I kind of wonder if Jersey Shore hasn't attracted a gaggle of anthropologists wanting to do the same thing. ;)

I was worried at the beginning of this post that you were going to say Ignatius wasn't doing well... so I was kind of relieved to hear it was just his old mischief. Geez Dog.

I can't watch this show. I try and I get so annoyed. My hubby was watching the After Show or whatever it's called and I had to leave the room. They are all so ridiculous.

But I can see why people are addicted to watching Jersey Shore. Just me personally, I can't do it.
