And the icing on the cake? THE SAINTS BEAT THE COWBOYS! (sorry Micaela and Marianne!). Initially I wasn't worried . . . but then the good ol' boys fired their coach and started winning . . . but we still took care of them in the end. Close game, though! (Needless to say, my crush on wide receiver Lance Moore is deepening).
hottie with a body
Out with the old and in with the new, though, so I'm onto Christmas now. ;) Tonight I decided to stay in and holiday-it-up: I'm baking these brownies, listening to this Christmas cd, and I just put up my meager little Christmas tree:
I'm considering getting a real one this year. I haven't in the past, cause I always go home to Georgia about a week before Christmas, and my parents have trees . . . but this year I'm feeling particularly starved for Christmas spirit, decor, music, cookies, etc. :) Please share any craft ideas/recipes/music mixes that you love!
Have most of you started shopping? I've done a little bit, but definitely nowhere near half. Trying to think of some good gifts for little kiddos this year! Any ideas?

That little purple tree is so cute! I just posted a couple of cute and easy crafts this weekend. More to come...
Claire! I had such a hard time when I made caramel for the first time ... but it turned out so yummy and it still tasted great. Thank you for all of your sweet comments. Sending you hugs and love!! And you keep baking lady ... I always enjoy a glass of wine while I wait too. XO
Glad you had a great Thanksgiving, but sure wish you could have been here with us! Maybe when you move closer to home - hint, hint!
When will you be coming home for Christmas?
loving the purple tree!
Oh! Lance Moore is cute! No wonder you have a crush on him!
I have a purple Christmas tree, too!! Isn't it fun? ;)
Yay Saints!
i'm seroiusly thinking about buying a christmas tree this year too! can't decide how my roommate would feel about it though...
woah, lance=hawt! i only knew the saints were playing b/c of you [hubby was impressed!] but i would've paid more attention to the game if i knew HE was playing! ;)
love your tree! this is my first year having my very own tree! we're going to ikea to get a $20 real one.
sweet potato souffle turned out fabulously! thanks for the recipe! more to come in an email! xo
You are quite the chef, my dear! That is an impressive line-up of food!
I adore your tree:) It's so cute.
Ah, your Thanksgiving sounds incredibly charming, Claire. Please make a stop at my house next year - we could definitely use your kitchen expertise!!
By the way, your Christmas tree is adorable. I love big trees myself, but ohmigosh they take forever to take down - and it's heartbreaking when you have to!! :/
I love your tree. We went all out with Christmas decor over the weekend. I'm so excited, but kinda sorta feel badly that my poor kids have to wait about 28 days still. But, I have advent calendars for them to help with that. Congrats on the win. Tofurkey is great. :)
I love your cute tree.
Pretty much done with shopping. Need to wrap and ship now.
Loving winter in California!
Best tree ever!! We're moving 6 days before Christmas, so I'm pretty sure we're not going to have a tree at all. Or we might. I guess it depends on how I'm feeling when I wake up on the 24th, lol.
I love board games for kiddos. To me, they're classic and even fun for adults. Right?
Skip the tree and buy a fresh wreath!
I always eat tofurky at Christmas. I love it, but, yes, my family won't touch it with a barge-pole!!
I like your little purple tree! I don't have a tree or decorations up yet, so you are doing well!
x
Oh he is a cutie!!!
Have you ever tried butterscotch brownies? Sometimes they're called blondies so you may have heard of them. They're really good!
eight hours!??? you made tofurky!? you are incredible! so glad it was so great!
i love your tree! reminds me of my fave movie purple rain!
am really looking forward to getting to england and doing my xmas shopping for my aneez, vanessa and isaac there. kinda nutty to do it the week before but i'm looking forward to it. and i know they'll have a tree too! FUN!
Brownies and Christmas decorating! Does it get any better? I have been traveling around a bit, so I'm ready to get home and start decorating. I have a little lime green tree in my office that looks very similar to your purple one. I figured I spend most of my time at work anyway, why not spruce this place up a bit. :-)
Thanks for stopping by my blog, it is always fun to see new faces.
Hooray for Christmas season officially starting! I love your purple tree (and I would've gladly had your tofurkey too :)).
Hope it was a lovely Thanksgiving weekend and you've a terrific week ahead!
i've done little to none for xmas shopping. it always stresses me out so i tend to wait until crunch time. bad, i know.
congrats to your saints. i was rooting for them too b/c i hate the cowboys. too bad my black & silver boys aren't doing so well anymore. kinda bums me out...a lot :(
Go Saints! I was rooting for them this weekend, too (can't stand the Cowboys!) Sounds like you had a nice, relaxing Thanksgiving =]
Wow, you were busy for Thanksgiving! I made green bean casserole, ha ha!

that tree is adorbs! i was thinking of gettting a small pink one.
and yes! got the recipe. thanks doll
Oh, I want a little tree like the one that you have. When I was in San Jose, I saw a cute teal/turquoise one in the window of a bookstore - maybe Barnes & Noble or Borders - I can't remember which one but I am kicking myself for not picking up a couple of the cute trees. I just loved their display of purple, white and turquoise.
