Productivity

Happy New Year to all of us and Happy One Year to my blog. :)  It was on January 1st of last year that I sat down to write a blog all about PROGRESS-my word for 2010--and now I'm back and thinking about my new word, PRODUCTIVITY!  Here's a look back at my very first blog entry.

Today I headed up to my dear Freitags to cook up the annual black eyed peas and collard greens (and also my mama's cheese biscuits, which I have unfortunately perfected).  Here's to extra helpings of luck and money in 2011!

These are some areas in which I'm hoping to be especially productive this year:

Working on my home.  I've been putting off so many projects--hanging curtains & artwork, really cleaning & organizing, making my space amazing!

Writing.  I spent three years in graduate school for Creative Writing and now I don't even write a poem every week!  It's ridiculous.  So, I'm beckoning the God of Productivity to give me some guidance so that I write more in 2011 and actual send poems out to magazines.

Exercise.  It's easy to put this on the back burner when you're busy . . . but I gotta get with the program, because I don't feel good when I'm not exercising.  Yoga, dance, hiking, running, here I come!

Being a better teacher, which for me mostly means being more conscientious about lesson plans--really researching the best resources, reading more books about curriculum, etc.

What's your word for 2011?

Claire!! Happy New Year my dear. I'm so excited for 2011 because this is the year I make things happen too! I need to leave procrastination in the dust and start using and embracing all my talents. :) If I had to choose a word for 2011, it would be: Fearless.

Here's to a fabulous year my friend!! Cheers. :)

xx Love & Aloha

Happy One Year darling! :) Productivity could easily be my word as well. My house needs some SERIOUS organizing! I have a spare room I've been wanting to decorate with my seahorses and make it a sea themed room. I keep saying I'm going to do it and I think you have finally inspired me to just do it already! I'm looking forward to reading your poems this year :) The first word that came to my mind for my word for 2011 is FEARLESS and then I saw it's Sharonlei's word as well so I know I chose a good one (isn't that a Taylor Swift song too?) Thanks for our little chat last night!!! You calmed my mind and it meant so much to me!!! Love you!! Here's to a fabulous 2011 Claire! xo

What am I up to in 2011? No idea... but I'm excited to see where this year takes me :)

My word for 2011 is adventure! hopefully I'll also get the financial backing to support the word - otherwise I still plan on adventure, just not the glamourous type haha.

my word last year was BALANCE. i am still undecided as of this years word, but i think it is going to be ACTION. i have so many things "sitting on a shelf" that i want to do this year- i just need to put them into ACTION and make it happen!

What a great list!! Mine includes: Patience (not sure where mine went, but it's been gone for a while), Good health (nursing a broken foot, and feeling horribly out of shape), and Cleanliness (tired of clutter and dirt from the kids and the pets taking over my house). :)

I absolutely love your list and love your word. I hope 2011 brings you many productive moments! You've really got me thinking about my word for 2011. I guess I would say mine is "change". I have a feeling that a lot of major changes are coming my way (all good) and I hope to adjust with them as smoothly as possible!

Happy New Year, girl! I love that you choose a word to build your year around. Although it's already been said a couple times around the blogsphere, I would have to go with "fearless." Lots of changes and challenges are heading my way, and I am determined to meet them head on!

my word = constant

2010 was tumultuous and dramatic and changing. i want the opposite of that in 2011.

i love the idea of picking a word for the new year instead of a million individual resolutions. brilliant!! i think my word would be action. take action in my dreams, in my plans, and in my self-growth. i often have lots of ideas, but rarely take action. so this year i'm going to get out of the house more and get involved with life! :)

happy new year and good luck with your productivity!

Hmm I think my word will be positivity. I can def be negative and that's no bueno. I need to change that :)

striving for more productivity is so hard sometimes, i hate it. don't make resolutions, but a lot of yours are similar to the things on my continuous list of things to work on. something my mom always told me to do when i said i was bored was to 'get productive!', haha. sometimes it's hard though w/o a good amount of inspiration, but whenever i have thatn sense of urgency to do something, even if it's at 4am, i do it, haha. good luck with your resolutions claire! hope that your 2011 is off to a wonderful start and had a great time in GA as well. :]
