Friday I'm in Love!

1. This Saturday is my 6th Annual All Girls Valentine's Sleepover!
I am so excited, and I'm telling you, my apartment's gonna look like a Cupid explosion!  I've been gathering banners, flags, napkins, plates, cupcakes, red candy dishes, heart placemats, etc.  It's pretty much gonna be amazing.  Especially since Amy got me some Spanish conversation hearts for the party. ;)  Pics to follow!

2. My friend Elena is arriving from San Diego today!
I'm going to pick her up after school.  Can't wait!  We went to grad school together for a year, and then she moved back down to San Diego, so we only get to see each other once or twice a year.  Yay for visits from far-away friends!  We're gonna have dinner & drinks in my hood in Oakland tonight--keepin' it low-key so we can gear up for tomorrow's shenanigans.

3. Homeroom
What's better than a school-themed mac & cheese restaurant?  Well . . . not a whole lot.  There's a new spot (just opened) in north Oakland called Homeroom (um, how cute is that?) that specializes in all kinds of mac & cheese.  Do yourself a favor and check out the menu here.  I'll expect you all to book plane tickets to the bay shortly thereafter. ;)

You know what I'm not in love with?  This d-bag who kicked Jacee out of his group on Wednesday night.  WTF, yo.  Go back to your karaoke bar, cause there's no room for @$$holes on Idol!

Who are your faves?  At this point, I think the 15 year old Lauren with the wavy blonde hair is pretty top-notch.  That girl has a powerhouse voice!  I also love the Seth Rogan lookalike who rocked the upright bass last night.  Whoa!  And homeboy can scat.

Happy Friday! xo

I wish I was going to be at your girls weekend! That sounds so freakin' awesome! I feel like I need to steal the idea from you now lol :)

Have so much fun!!!

I am loving the same peeps as you. And I love Jacee, too. Wait he's the cute little chubby boy right? He handled himself (minus the tears, but can you blame him?!) so maturely when the judges asked him about being kicked out. Good for him!

I'm totally late on this and keep meaning to ask you a question but I'll email you, as it's kinda private.

How fun that Elena is visiting :) I wish I could be there for your girls slumber party! Sounds like it's going to be so much fun and I can't wait to see the pics. I can't wait for our own slumber party when we come this summer :) Speaking of which, we need to be sure and put homeroom on our list of things to do! :) Sounds fabulous!! I'm with you on AI - I LOVE Lauren and the Seth Rogan look alike :) I also love Chris Medina, but I think it might just be more because of his heartbreaking story about his fiancee. OMG I still tear up when I think of it!!! But nobody will ever compare to my cutie David Archuleta from season 7 :) He STILL has my heart :)

Homeroom? I AM IN LOVE! I could live there. HA
I am an episode behind on Idol and have yet to pick a favorite but I am enjoying this season.
Have fun with your girlfriends... sounds divine.

What a fun idea for the annual sleepover! It sounds sorta like what happened at my house last weekend, but instead of hanging hearts it was hanging nude playing cards of men because I hosted a Pure Romance party! The decor was sooo obnoxious!

My heart melts for JACEE!!!! I can't tell if it is because I feel sorry for him or because he is just a darn good singer. I love how mature he is for being 15. I couldn't have held things together under that pressure at his age. Not sure he has the stage presence needed for IDOL, but I so love that kid. And, he is, still a KID. I'm still a little unsure about letting talent so young into this competition given the pressures of Hollywood. Might have to blog post about it.

YAY FOR JACEE! So glad I have a West Coast friend pulling for him too!

I'm basically in love with all of those things! Your sleepover sounds like SO much fun - and I did look at the Homeroom menu and was *that* close to booking a plane ticket just for that.

I love that girl Lauren but I swear if she asks Steven Tyler to sing with her one more time I'm gonna boycott her like no tomorrow! lol

I don't watch idol so I can't comment on that, but have a great time with your friend! Your weekend sounds fun. And ya, it's great having a clean closet (but I did want to give up halfway through!)

Mac and cheese, is that an American thing? lol

homeroom sounds awesome! We have a restaurant that serves mac and cheese here in many different ways (fine dining though) and it's SO good. I don't watch American Idol so no input on my end here... but also, I hope you show us pics of your party! sounds so fun!
