There's a Theme Here . . .

Evidently when I said I was gonna take a break from healthy eating while visiting friends in southern California, I wasn't kidding!

Snooki food (fried pickles)

firecracker "chicken" (made with gardein)

Blue Moon + Guinness

Amy with "Amy" wine at Amazing Grapes

Sammy exploring at Gymboree class with Miss Jamie

babies & booze: two of my favorite things
(lunch at the Beachcomber on Newport Beach)

and speaking of unhealthy . . .
I made us some mac & cheese Saturday night

but then I balanced it out with this

Please excuse the terrible photos--my camera desperately needs to be charged, so these are less-than-optimal cell phone pics.  But I've been more consumed with hanging out with my dearest peeps than trying to get good pictures.  We've been having a blast!  Not to mention, we made a little stop here yesterday:

forget seasonal flavors . . .
I'll always be loyal to red velvet

I have to kiss my friends goodbye in the morning, but at least I'll have something to distract me . . . Superbowl XLV!  What's everyone doing for the big game??

I think you have to take breaks from healthy eating sometimes, that stuff is too good not to!

I want to know what all you put in that broccoli dish. Looks AMAZING!

Oh, YUM. I woke up hungry, and now I'm certain the only thing that will fulfill my hunger is mac and cheese and a cupcake! :)

Hope you enjoy the big game. Being in Wisconsin...it is CRAZY here. Completely looney. I plan to snuggle up and watch commercials, and perhaps throw down some snacks. :)

Oh geez ... fried pickles?! I've never tried those. My weekend has been all about eating out. I'm eager to stay in today and eat a salad!

Fried pickles sound delicious. And if you can't eat food that's less than good for you when you go visit friends when can you? Have fun with them watching the superbowl!

We're going to a little gathering and I'm making red velvet cake balls dipped in chocolate and some guac to go with lime chips!

food breaks get me into trouble. I am a huge pickle fan - like HUGE... I seriously eat a jar a week; i've tried deepfried pickles like 3 times to see if I like them, but I don't I prefer fried zuchinni - so yummy!

Holy food fest. Fried pickles? Mac n cheese? I'm in heaven.

And, I LOVE babies and booze. Sometimes booze leads to babies!

I love finding things with my name on it. There is a cheese called "Marisa" cheese but unfortunately I don't think it tastes very good haha Looks like a fun (and delicious) trip! (Don't worry, vacation calories don't count ;) And neither do Superbowl Sunday ones in my books)

Fried pickles are my ABSOLUTE fave!! I might have to order some tonight at the local sports bar we're going to be watching the Super Bowl at! What I really, really want to be ordering though is a Blue Moon. Man I miss those SO much!
Philip and I are going with some friends including one of my besties Erin who is a HUGE Packers fan and her mom who is a HUGE Steelers fan! It's going to be outta control since they are both such loud, crazy fans :) Since I don't have any real loyalty to either team, I've decided to find something yellow to wear for both teams. Can't wait, it's going to be a blast :)

LOVE the picture of you, booze and baby! The expression on the Sammy's face is just precious! Wish I could have been there with you, looks beautiful in Newport Beach.

I'll prob be texting you during the game! xoxo

If I lived close to a sprinkles, I'd be a hundred pounds heavier! no joke - that stuff is to die for.

Have so much fun on your last night and safe travels! traveling is for unhealthy eating. Duh. It's practically a MUST! :) And you totally balanced it all with salad. :) I've been eating like an animal preparing for hibernation with all the snow this week, sooooo I'm in the same club...haha...

Mmmm, cupcakes!

Being Canadian, I'm more of a hockey girl myself, but I am looking forward to the big post-game Glee show!

Looks like you've had a wonderful weekend, Claire. Yay!

I loved all the food pictured...not much on the fried pickles, but they are OK at times...and I am all about some Blue Moon with an orange slice, though!

Hi Claire, I'm new to your blog and following you now from Meg's MM. I spent many years living in SF and miss it (but don't get me wrong - Maui is definitely home).

Good Lord, all this "bad" food makes me hungry. Presently, the carrots and hummus I am eating sucks. ;)

I'm looking forward to reading along and learning more about you. Plus, visiting your blog means I get to live vicariously through you!

Aloha,
Angie
