1. Reading
on my nightstand
Baker Beach in San Francisco, taken with my iPhone
3. Working on my apartment
outside of my apartment building/my back deck
Being as busy as I am, I rarely have time for things like framing prints, decorating, rearranging, etc. Lately I've been longing to fix up my apartment a little bit . . . cause after all, I may be spending a bit more time there after I lose funding for my job!
But tonight I'm going to see this, which I'm pretty excited about:
A Way Out consists of three short plays that offer a glimpse into the lives of women struggling to break away from cycles of abuse, incarceration and codependency, written by the women of Rising Voices.

Your apartment is adorable! I'm in the waiting game to find out if I'm going to get a condo I just submitted a lease offer for! Fingers crossed!

Ahhhh, I am in love with where you live!!!! Love that back deck...so,when can I come for a visit? ;-) Read Water for Elephants TONIGHT!!! It is so good. I just finished it...now I am on to Steven Tyler's book. Talk about a wide variety, eh? Happy weekend...you have NO idea how badly I wanna go to your beach.....
try to have a good weekend lady! those are some stiff fines...i might have steam coming outta my ears if i had to pay those :( if you lived closer, i would bring my little green thumb over and help you pot some plants for your cute lil deck :)
Your apartment is absolutely darling!! Such a bummer about the tickets... sometimes that sort of stuff just doesn't seem fair in the grand scheme of things going on in the world.
I hope you find some time to enjoy the weekend and read those lovely books! :)
your apartment IS adorable and i can't wait to see it!!! i'll help you hang up things -- i'm queen at it as you saw from pics of my living room lol there's hardly an empty space!
haha on Leeann's comment ;)
when you're done with "something borrowed" i want to borrow it! i just started "one day" and i can't put it down. i love british humor!
i have been meaning to read "the namesake"-- i have a copy and haven't had a chance to get to it. Let's read it together! a micaela + claire book club.
i can't wait to hear about the plays! xo
wish i could go to the plays with you! i want to read the books on your nightstand!! hugs, my dear!
Let us know about the plays! Sounds very interesting. Happy weekend!
oh my goodness it sounds like you need a hug. I'm there daydreaming with you. Here is to us meeting in a tropical location with drinks that come with umbrellas and piles of books that need reading and a whole wolrd where there are no problems we have to deal with
Oh gosh parking fines are the bain of my existence!! Ridiculous fees and bills are taking over my life at the moment I dont even want to talk about it.
Oh Water for Elephants is so good! Do you love it? I need to see the movie.
Oh love that photo of San Fran, I cant wait to be there in September :-)
Oh and yes I do hope we get to have a wine together when I am in SF! I am only there for two nights but will send you an email to see what we can do, how exciting :-)
do the parking police have a device on your car that tells them whenever you're illegally parked? hope you get out of the tinting stupidity!
namesake is one of my all time favourite books! i still have to read water for elephants even though it's been on my shelf since it first came out.
your apartment has a great deck for us to sip cocktails on. one day . . .
I thought that picture was saved from online somewhere. That's an awesome pic of the beach! That is absolutely terrible about the tickets! Water for Elephants is next on my list to read.
and, oh god.. what the heck is up with all your parking tix and that dumb ass tint tick... i hope they cleared that one up for you! ugh this country!!!!
Aww, the beach. I love the beach and miss it dearly! I know how it is not having enough time during the weekend - it's hard to keep up with everything!
That play sounds AMAZING. I hope you enjoy it. :)
Also, I think we are book/reading kindred spirits! haha I love Water for Elephants, I'm reading Something Borrowed, and I studied Jhumpa Lahiri in Short Fiction! :)
what the hell w/getting a ticket for windows you got from a dealership? is THAT legal?? UGH
and what's this about losing funding for your job? for real??
ooohhhhhhhhhhh claire. mad hugs to you!!
carrie
HOly moly-window tinting tickets?! And everything else? Major.boo. and major hugs. But, I am definitely loving your apartment and interested to hear more about A Way Out-sounds really interesting!
Oh Claire so sorry about the dang tickets :( It sucks to shell over that kind of money for something so ridiculous (tinted windows?? when you got it like that??? UGH) I hope you did something fun this weekend to forget about all of that! "A Way Out" seemed like the perfect way to escape!
I absolutely can't wait to be sitting on your back deck enjoying some girl talk with you, Micaela and Jessie!!! And I can't wait to be at Baker Beach with you girls! Less than a month until all of it happens and I am beyond excited! :)
I would totally fight that ticket since you got the car from the dealership like that already. Your apartment is sooooo cute!
is it mean that i just gave my buspass a nod as i read about your parking tickets? someone atu. the DMV is getting some pretty perks off of you. what do they say when you show up to pay all those fines?
i loved the namesake. probably because my parents immigrated to north america and i wonder if they felt any of the same things that gogol's mom and dad did. let me know if you want to borrow the movie. i'll send it your way.
hugs!
