We had a ridiculous spread yesterday. My Filipina roommate's family came over with all kinds of Filipino food in tow (none of which I ate since it was all meat stuff, but which looked incredible nonetheless), and I cooked my tail off (making traditional Thanksgiving fare). I made macaroni & cheese, greens, stuffing, vegetarian gravy, squash casserole, and sweet potato casserole. Seriously, look at this:
I couldn't even get it all in one picture--you can't see my cranberry sauce! :)
I miss my family in Georgia a lot at Thanksgiving, but we had a quick skype session yesterday so I got to see all their faces. :) And it's just one short month till Christmas, when we'll all be together!
Today, I'm focusing on leftovers & avoiding anything Black Friday related. Mobs of crazed shoppers give me anxiety. In fact, I think I'm going to have a piece of apple pie & crawl right back into bed. Happy holidays!

YUM! What a spread! You should be relaxing today, lady! It looks like you worked hard! Happy Thanksgiving!
Omg that looks soooo yummy!
all those filipino food goodness is what my mama prepares for thanksgiving, of course, there's always some italian pasta and mexican stuff, then the turkey and the usual mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing is the star of the night. growing up, i remember the spread starts at noon, ends around mid night, people come and go. sometimes i swore there were people we didn't know but ended up in our house! LOL
fellow GA girl here! Where did u live in GA?
Anywho, I had a great turkey day, since all i did was eat!
Mmmmm, I'm driving back to school tomorrow, but I'm taking leftovers with me and that's going to be my dinner tomorrow. I can't friggin' wait.
Glad you had a great Thanksgiving! Looks like a feast for sure!! I'm sick again (still really) so I haven't done anything today...including shower eeeeeew lol!
Okay that is an insane amount of food! It all looks amazing! Black Friday is way too scary for me - staying home in ms sounds perfect.
Oh my all that food looks absolutely delicious!! I hate crowded shopping centres too. I am starting to get anxious as I have barely started my christmas shopping and the malls are going to get busier and busier eeck.
All this food is utterly amazing! I want to experience an American Thanksgiving one year. Oh Filipinos love to eat :)
The shops are so crowded now. I think mainly because it's been quite hot lately.
I sort of explained my job on the blog. And thanks so much for your compliment :) You made me blush.
there's so much delicious food! can i come over next year for thanksgiving? ;)
holy crap that's a lot of food!
you do thanksgiving justice woman...must be the sweet southern girl in you! now pass ovah the mac n cheese please!
I like that I can eat pumpkin pie for breakfast!!!!!
I got out of bed at 5pm on Saturday. If only you were my neighbor...I'd have knocked on the door in my pj's and popped by for a plate. Good grief what a fab spread!!
dude!!! LOOK AT THAT SPREAD! it all looks amazing, and i bet it was pretty tasty!
hope you and your man had a nice long weekend together! :)
Your boy sleeping in until noon while you both had no immediate agenda sounds like the perfect way to spend Black Friday! I've pretty much been eating turkey for a week straight. I just love Thanksgiving for the reasons you listed- eating to your heart's content without feeling guilty :) Everything you made sounded delicious (even without the meat!). Lucky girl for not only getting the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but some good Filipino food in the mix! That kinda looks like our Thanksgiving spread :) A meal is not a meal in my book without white/fried rice :) I missed twinkie so much this Thanksgiving so I know how you feel about missing family during the holidays. So glad you get to be with yours soon!! :) p.s. Thinking of you as I watch your Saints play the Giants in Monday Night Football xoxo
That's great that you could skype with the family!! All of that food looks amazing!

that is a ridiculous amount of food that i wish i could have been there because i would have been happy to eat copious amounts of leftovers!
