Unfortunately my thermometer broke last night, so I don't know about my current temperature, but I'm achey and cold (a bizarre sensation for this polar bear) and all I want to do is curl up in bed and watch the Super Tuesday results roll in. I go back & forth between wanting to have meaningful discussions with folks who vote for people like Santorum, who insists that all forms of birth control are unethical and that a woman impregnated by rape should consider it a "gift," and wanting to never discuss politics with people on the opposite end of the spectrum. The older I get, the more capable I am of the former (in college, I would pretty much shriek and burst into tears whenever someone said they supported the death penalty). Ultimately, I do support everyone's right to vote and make his/her own decision. I just hope the majority of people do so while keeping the greater good in mind.
Speaking of Republicans, have you seen this picture of Callista Gingrich? OMG.

Wish me luck healing from this mean, mean virus/flu/whatever it is, and may the Super Tuesday voters make conscious choices. :)

I'm sorry you're feeling crummy. I hope you're on the mend soon.
Not-really-voting-related: you know what's funny about voting in a smallish area? There are 9 old folks at the polls who EACH want to have a deep, meaningful discussion with you, especially if you forget that you're wearing a stethoscope around your neck. I wasn't expecting to discuss co-pays and strokes at the polls.
Oh man, that sounds like a no-fun sickness. Take good care of yourself and definitely say curled up today!
That is an amazing picture of Mrs Gingrich. She's an intense looking lady.
I am with you on the politics. I am much more tolerant of other points of views than I once was, and I am interested in learning why feel so passionate about their positions - like pro-life, rape as a gift, etc. But, at the same time, I sort of feel like I could never talk politics to people at the extreme ever again and be just fine with it.
Hugs to you & get lots of rest!
Can someone say Stepford Wife!?! Holy cow that is a scary pic. And I hope you feel better fast. Love you, mean it!!!!
I hope you feel better, Claire! And I hope someday we can meet and discuss politics and teaching over wine. I have a feeling we will get along just fine:)
I hope you feel better soon!
On a politics note, the husband is on this massive "cousins" email list (mind you we don't know half the people and it's this random extended family list that got created by some random woman researching the family) - anyway, point bein that last night he got a ridiculously long email about who to vote for and why. It was so ridiculous that I couldn't even read it - not because of the views but because it's like "who sends a 40 paragraph political email to a group of people they don't know???" I kind of hate all politics to be honest.
remember sabrina the teenage witch with melissa joan hart?? callista looks like one of her aunts on the show IF SHE LOST HER EVER-LOVING MIND.
Feel better chica!
I keep secretly cheering for Santorum, because I think he might be the most unelectable person ever. Is that bad? In reality, I would like Republicans to start putting forward so reasonable folks (hello Jon Huntsman), but in the meantime I'll settle for wholly unelectable.
And Mrs Gingrich is lookin' CRAY.
yikes! she looks like the end result for every toddler and tiara.
Oh Claire it sucks when you feel sick like that. I truly hope you get better soon because it's difficult to do anything when you feel crummy. Relax and look after yourself. x
I'm so sorry you are under the weather. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Wow, Newt's wife looks plastic. I've never seen such a person. I'm a libertarian, but I'm bummed Huntsman dropped out. He's a good person. Basically I think a lot of things that gov't regulates should not be regulated by gov't, including healthcare, abortion, etc... Let the people choose. And stop spending money the country doesn't have. Ha. There's my rant for the day. That felt good.
Called in sick to the Balboa? Meaning the restaurant/bar? Hope you feel better soon!
get well soon my friend (said in my phlegmy voice through my watery eyes and snotty nose...)
omg. that picture?!?!?!?! she looks like the wife of satan! and she is!
p.s. there are a lot of "satans" out there. argh! so many! and santorum is certainly one of them!
I support the death penalty.
Just kidding. I lean toward opposing it but have some reservations.
Callista G rules. Twould make a good punk band album cover, that pic.
I swear anytime I hear anything about that man, I cringe!!! Feel better!
